DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient)

As a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) donations to Appin Hall Children's Foundation are tax deductible for:

• gifts of money over $2 or;

• gifts of property over $2 provided that the property was purchased by the donor during the twelve (12) months before making the gift. The amount of the deduction is the lesser of the purchase price paid by the donor and the market value of the gift at the date of the gift.

If the gift is trading stock then;

• it must be a disposal outside the donor's ordinary course of business, and

• the value of the gift will be the market value of the trading stock on the date of the gift.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Sponsorship opportunities for businesses are encouraged to develop associations and partnerships with Appin Hall Children's Foundation to assist seriously ill and disadvantaged children. These include:

• Corporate sponsorships

• Philanthropic donations

• Employee payroll deduction schemes

• Event sponsorship

The Foundation also offers corporations and business the opportunity to sponsor specific projects. The sponsorship of each project is assessed on an individual project submission. These include:

• On-going development of our Respite Centre

• Organic vegetable gardens and Orchard

• Spring water bottling project

• Craft and Cottage Industry projects

• Design of proposed Village complex

Appin Hall Children's Foundation is a public company limited by guarantee. It is a not-for-profit charitable organisation with Tax Deductible Status (TDS) and Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) benefits based in Tasmania.

Volunteers

Why Volunteer?
Volunteers do make the difference and are the backbone of Appin Hall Children's Foundation. One thing they all share is a common desire to help children.

Our volunteers comprise of people of all ages, religions, and cultural diversities with a broad range of backgrounds.

Volunteers are screened and required to undergo a thorough police check prior to appointment. Volunteers are required for;

• trades persons, gardeners and labours

• fundraising/event management

• administration

• training co-ordinator

• carers

• marketing/public relations

• housekeeping, food and catering

• purchasing
