Massive change is reshaping our world.
Our failing environment and the planet which
sustains our very existence is now expected
to continue providing sustenance to the
growing population in most countries. Many
children trapped within war-torn countries
are seriously under threat due to loss of
family, disease, inadequate health care,
education, and the lack of food and clean
water.
Globally our communities are experiencing
anxiety about the future we step into, in
particular what social structures and productive
communities will exist for future generations.
As an island, Tasmania (Australia) is well
poised to demonstrate to the world how communities
can become empowered through information
flow and collective participation. Any responsible
preparation we do today will only be the
beginnings of the tasks future generations
have ahead of them.
We require a good dose of optimism, so
that a healthy balance can be restored at
every level of social existence and awareness.
Restoring peace, bolstering food and water
supplies, improving health services, and
providing an open information flow will
encourage people to rebuild their lives
especially in countries devastated by circumstances
beyond their control. Blaming governments
will not reverse this situation. Assisting
positive change through direct action can
bring the vital hope required to put global
communities back on their feet. First, we
must stop the mechanisms that create such
destruction and degradation.
The earth sustaining
our future ...
Statistics are revealing that we have destroyed
the fragile balance established after billions
of years of slow progress, between the unrelenting
efforts of life to take hold of this once
barren planet. The forces of nature are
continually counteracting to bring things
back to their simplest mineral and chemical
expressions. This is the ultimate result
of a civilization unaware of the outcomes
established through a lack of awareness
of what is transpiring. For change to occur,
first, we must change. Too late to avoid
the obvious scenario once the obvious outcome
has occurred.
In 1800 we had 1 billion people living
on the planet. Today, two centuries later,
we have 6 billion. This prodigious increase
is due to the fact that in 1800 we needed
our global forests, in the colder climates,
to support our fuel (firewood) and heating
requirements.
With the advent of fossil fuels being mined,
to provide fuel (coal) and oil (our heating)
petroleum needs were being met and consequently
the forests were systematically removed
to make way for our fast growing population
- land was being taken to feed developing
communities globally.
This destruction of our forests, and unceasing
mining of our fossil fuel, has left the
world populous in a volatile and threatening
predicament. If this scale of growth continues,
in keeping with population trends since
the 1800s, we will see a further dramatic
increase that might have the population
at critical mass as close as the year 2025.
In other words, our vanishing forests, the
lungs of the planet, will not be able to
support the population today (the first
decade of the 21st century), and the fossil
fuel bank will soon be due to run out. Areas
like Alaska are now being sourced as new
deposits of this resource.
As
a result of excessive extraction of fossil
fuels, in Middle Eastern countries, these
commodities are now reaching scarcity. Free
energy will be a last resort but will it
come too late? The earth and its global
communities are currently struggling to
support 6 billion people - let alone 12
billion over the next 35 to 40 years.
Humanity in crisis ...
The tragedy of children being traumatised
and orphaned through the violence of war
worldwide needs to be addressed. We feel
appalled that there is little if nothing
being done to help these unfortunate souls
who no longer have any means of support,
no care provided to them, no hope for the
future and are left with anger, pain, hurt
and distrust of all other human beings.
These are the ingredients to fester hatred
and war.
You do not get Peace by hating
war - you get Peace by loving Peace.
The number of children at risk globally
is increasing at a disturbing rate and AHCFs
intention is to create a model that can
be built expeditiously and economically
in countries where childrens lives
are continually threatened.
Our plan is to forge worldwide partnerships
to build similar facilities to specifically
deal with the protection and safety of young
people internationally.
The goal of education must be to inspire
each human being to find his or her own
truths along the path of Life. The expression
of such truths are founded in the experience
of joy, excitement and happiness. Developing
these attributes relies on an exploration
of intellect (thought), unrestrained creativity
(imagination), and striving for excellence
in delivering the necessary action (accomplishment).
All of which brings about a person who is
prepared to choose his or her own destiny.
When are we going to choose to trust our
intuition and imagination with all the methodologies
we require to contain and be any idea we
want to be - in the moment?
