The Vision

OUR VISION
To provide refuge for children at risk.
To provide care for young people in society
with serious illness and those disadvantaged
through destitution and homelessness.
To provide a peaceful environment embracing
a unified vision of love, respect and hope for
the future.
Appin Hall Children’s Foundation is a respite and healing centre designed to assist children’s recovery from illness and trauma. Children are our most treasured resource seeking to live in a vital world. At AHCF our aim is to provide a safe and loving environment where children can reach their highest potential Appin Hall Children’s Foundation’s (AHCF) vision is to create a place of respite and an educational centre for children at risk in Tasmania and Australia, and in time, a possible refuge and safe haven for children in other territories.

Appin Hall Children’s Foundation’s (AHCF) vision is to create a place of respite and an educational centre for children at risk in Tasmania and Australia, and in time, a possible refuge and safe haven for children in other territories. To validate, respect, empower and bring balance to each child’s emotional wellbeing, by rebuilding their connection to mind, body and soul through self-esteem and a sense of security. This is being achieved by lovingly reinforcing each child’s safe connection to family, the greater community and the natural environment.

It is a fine line we walk, when assisting the healing process of a young person’s life. Vulnerable and emotional instability creates a need for fostering and tender loving care; a ‘balancing act’ to define the way in which we can help to re-build mental and emotional wellbeing and stability, thereby helping to build a connection to the human spirit and the Earth.

AHCF is a vanguard, behind which a safety net has been created to protect many children, their wellbeing, aspirations and dreams - and their future. As more people begin to embrace this unified vision of love, trust, respect and hope, the project continues to evolve through each vital stage of its development. It is a Journey, as well as a Destination, for many folk who understand the need to create such a safe haven designed to safeguard the lives of innocent children.

" If we can revise our attitudes toward the land under our feet, if we can accept a role of steward, and depart from the role of conqueror, if we can accept the view that man and nature are inseparable parts of the unified whole - then Tasmania can be a shining beacon in a dull, uniform, and largely artificial world. "

- Olegas Truchanus (1971)

MISSION STATEMENT
To create refuge specifically focused on
protecting the welfare and health of children
by providing a respite centre complex that will
be unique. The respite facility will be homely
and adventurous; creating an inspirational,
educational, creative experience – connected to
nature and the environment.

Our vision is to create a self-sustainable model and self-funding self-perpetuating project. In order to achieve such free resourcefulness, AHCF intends lift its aspirations and objectives to clearly define the new ways in which our community will self-support its operations outside of the many current outmoded worldwide models. The global ‘systems’ that supposedly support humanity are failing because they are not built upon the heart (human spirit), and so it is an opportunity for innovative models (paradigms) to be created and implemented, whereby our current and future generations might consider returning to many old-fashioned values based upon: human kindness, compassion, trust, integrity, humor, knowledge, and, above all – RESPECT! In this way, we can maintain intent to establish a viable project gifted in its ability to produce and deliver something of definite value – that is above and beyond the community’s own need.
